About
“In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.”
-Anton Ego, Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille

Positively Unapologetic Film Reviews was created as an answer to mainstream film review options. We all know that negativity sells, and can be quite entertaining. But rather than influence audiences to look for details that these critics didn’t agree with, I choose to focus on why someone would appreciate it.
Most people know that film-making is a large project, but they don’t always realize just how much of one it is. Often times there are teams handling multiple forms of editing and not necessarily in the same country. Often times actors won’t meet music composers or writers, and camera crews won’t interact with the visual effects labs. In the end, the Producers and Directors are the only two that are guaranteed to interact with everyone involved in the project, and even they may have some blind spots.

My style is to look for the positive aspects of a film, what the intent of a film COULD have been, not necessarily what the true intent was. Let’s face it…only the Director, Producer, and Writer would know that. But most of all, I call things in this world as I see them. So, my reviews will include unapologetic sarcasm. I review films as they come up in thought- whether it be an anniversary in history, celebration of an actor’s career, a recent release, or simply a conversation got me started. Requests are always welcome too.
Appreciation for the Cinematic Art
A space for film lovers to see the positive angles of films. Not to have their minds made up for them before they even see a film that probably wasn’t meant to be their preferred style.
